COUNTRY DAY
Discover life on a traditional Galician horse farm. Spend a full day sharing our daily life with the horses, learning about their behaviour and their role in local culture, enjoying traditional Galician cuisine and exploring some of the most spectacular landscapes of the Atlantic coast on horseback.
What will we do?
Learn about the history of Galicia’s wild horses, including their habitat, characteristics, traditional management and relationship with local communities, as well as the traditional equestrian tools and equipment used in the Galician countryside.
Introduction to Equine Ethology: a workshop focused on horse behaviour and psychology, learning how to interpret their signals and improve communication with them.
Basic horse care and handling workshop.
Riding workshop in the arena and in the mountains: an introduction to the fundamental principles of riding, both in the arena and on the trail, focusing on confidence, balance and connection with the horse.
Traditional Galician lunch prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, enjoyed in a relaxed rural setting.
Horseback ride through some of the area’s most beautiful landscapes, including natural pools, native forests and the rugged Atlantic coastline.
Closing gathering at the farm to share reflections, experiences and lessons learned throughout the day.
